Priscilla Thurston (Hudson) Menzies passed away Friday evening May 31, 2019 at the Nemasket Health Care Center in Middleboro at the age of 96. She was the Daughter of the late Everett G. and Alice M. (Sinotte) Hudson who resided all of their married life at 393 Copeland St. Brockton. Priscilla graduated from Forsyth School for Dental Hygienist in Boston with highest honors in 1942, after graduating from Brockton High School. She worked as a hygienist in Boston before moving to New York City where she worked on one of the dental floors at Rockefeller Center.
Her interest centered around sports, theater, and travel. She inherited the love of golf from her Father who played low scoring tournament golf. Priscilla had a chance to play at New England courses and where ever she went. During the 1940's she was a Civilians Plane Spotter at the John Hancock Tower in Boston.
After spending many vacations on Caribbean cruises and travel in European Countries she was married in the Presbyterian Church at Botany Bay, Sydney, Australia in 1965. She was the wife of the late Louis R. Menzies of Sydney. They lived in Australia for a few years before returning to Brockton. Australia was a favorite country of Priscilla. She enjoyed her childhood summers at the family's Buzzard Bay cottage where she enjoyed swimming and sailing.
Priscilla always was fulfilled by her volunteer work. She was an Associate member of the Brockton Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind from 1981 to 1986. A few years later she volunteered at the Cranberry Specialty Hospital in Middleboro.
The Menzies enjoyed flying their Comanche "400" to far away places with their favorite passenger Mrs. Hudson, Priscilla's Mother. She leaves behind a Niece, Sally Jones and her husband Rees Jones of Attleboro.
A private burial will take place at Pinehill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.
