Chelsea D. (Cole) Golden

Chelsea D. Golden, formerly Doreen D. Cole (Dody), 57, of Duxbury, passed away at 2:06 p.m., Sunday June 12, 2016 at Brigham & Women’s Hospital Boston, with her sisters by her side. Born August 17, 1958 in Weymouth, Chelsea graduated Hanover High, class of 1977, and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science from Bridgewater State College. She was a long time resident of Plymouth, active within her community. Chelsea generously gave much of her time to helping others, especially the elderly. She was an entrepreneur who wanted to open a business in order to spread hope, peace, and faith throughout the world, making one angel at a time. The first step in her dream was achieved when she opened “Chelsea’s Cottage & Crafter’s Outlet” in Plymouth. Later, she went on to create “Chelsea’s Gifts on the Go,” where she focused on traveling to rehabilitation centers and nursing homes, donating a percentage of her sales to their activities fund.

Although Chelsea struggled with mental illness, her strength and spirit in meeting all of life’s challenges was an inspiration to all. She is survived by her father Donald Cole of Plymouth; sisters, Diane Ostrander and husband, Daryl, of Halifax and Donna Tone-Pah-Hote of Dighton; nieces Sara Ostrander and Donann Tone-Pah-Hote; grandnieces Ava and Bianca Saia. She is preceded in death by her mother Nancy A. (Torrey) Cole. 

Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday June 29th at St. Mary Parish, 313 Court St. Plymouth. A reception in her honor will be held in the Parish Hall immediately following Mass. In lieu of flowers, Chelsea’s wish was for donations to be made to Blue Dog  Shelter, 1014 Pearl St. Brockton, MA 02301.
